Prospective Company Drivers: Container Fleet

   Thank you for considering Mitchell Bros. Truck Line, Inc. We represent a fleet of Drivers that we believe are the finest in the industry today.  Mitchell Bros. is a premier container and flatbed company based out of Vancouver, WA (just across the river from Portland, OR). We have 48 state authority and all of Canada. Our container operation primarily serves customers in Oregon, Washington and includes some Idaho and British Columbia.

   Our container tractors are made up of conventional equipment. Our local tractors are satellite-equipped to communicate with dispatch.  Our tractors in our container fleet primarily serve the Port of Portland, Port of Vancouver (WA), Port of Tacoma, Port of Seattle, Port Vancouver (British Columbia), independent container storage yards, railroad piggyback facilities and customer locations.

Note(s):

          1. Drivers shall be eligible for overtime pay after exceeding 40 hours in a Sunday through Saturday work week.  The overtime rate shall be your regular hourly rate plus ½ of your hourly rate.

          2. Drivers who work a shift of 5 hours or more are expected to take a one-half hour unpaid meal break between the 2nd and 5th hour of working. Meal breaks are not to be taken at the beginning or end of a shift.   There are some exceptions when hauling hazardous material cargo.  Any other exceptions must be authorized by your dispatcher/supervisor.

TACOMA - SEATTLE BASED FLEET PAY SCHEDULE

Starting / Base Pay

Note: To be eligible for this pay scale drivers must 1) reside in the Tacoma-Seattle area, 2) must park their assigned tractor in either the Tacoma or Seattle yard, and 3) must regularly start and end your shift at either the Tacoma or Seattle yard.

Note(s):

BENEFITS FOR DRIVERS IN OUR CONTAINER FLEET:

·$250.00 Sign On (Safety) Bonus after 30 days *continuous employment provided no preventable accidents/incidences, freight claims, moving violations, or out of service violation issued by a law enforcement agency.    Note:   Sign On (Safety) Bonus is for “new” drivers only.  Drivers who are being RE-HIRED or Owner-Operators or their respective hired drivers switching to be a company driver are not eligible for this bonus.  *Note: Continuous employment shall be defined as performing full-time (driving duties) and/or being available for full-time (driving duties) at Mitchell Bros.

·$25.00 a day for attending ORIENTATION …plus motel provided if you live outside of a 50 mile radius. Payment for attending orientation shall be issued on paycheck only after 30 days continuous employment. Note: Payment for attending orientation is available for “new” prospective drivers only. Drivers who are being RE-HIRED or owner-operators switching to be a company driver are not eligible to receive payment for attending orientation or motel benefits.

·Medical & Prescription, Dental, & Life Insurance Coverage:   Mitchell Bros. will pay 100% of insurance premium for eligible employee.  Our primary medical coverage is through Kaiser Permanente.   For drivers who live outside the Kaiser Permanente coverage area the coverage will then be provided by Group Health.  Medical, Prescription and Dental coverage is available for eligible family members.  The premium for eligible family members is set up to be dedcuted from your paycheck(s).    We do have a Section 125 Plan available so the premium can be deducted Pre-Tax.  

·Vision Plan is available. Routine eye examinations are covered under Kaiser Permanente and Group Health Insurance plan. If you would like complete optical care, ask company representative about our "Eye Med Vision Care" plan, which is available.

Note(s): If you would like a complete list of our current health care, dental and vision insurance rates to add a spouse/family, please ask a company representative. Eligibility for coverage is available the 1st day of the month following 90 days of employment.  For example, if you were hired on August 15th then you would be eligible for benefits on December 1st.  Health care premium rates are subject to change.

·Vacation = 1 week after 1st year of continuous employment, 1 week after 2 years continuous employment, 2 weeks after 3 years continuous employment.  (See company handbook for complete information on our vacation policy.)

        • 6 Paid Holidays per year granted to regular, full-time driver-employee.   See company handbook for complete information on our holiday pay policy.  

• Referral Bonus Pay. You can earn extra money if you refer a company driver or owner-operator (excluding lease-purchase operator) that we sign on. For more complete details, ask company representative..  

•401 K Plan (Eligible to participate the 1st day of month following 90 days of employment, of the next quarterly period.)
