Prospective Company Drivers: Flatbed Fleet
Thank you for considering Mitchell Bros. Truck Line, Inc. We represent a fleet of drivers that we believe are the finest in the industry today. Mitchell Bros. is a premier flatbed and container company based out of Vancouver, WA (just across the river from Portland, Oregon). Our flatbed fleet primarily serves customers in the five Western States: Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah, and Montana.
Our flatbed division has newer model, conventional tractors along with 48
and 53-foot straight deck trailers, step decks, container chassis, and more.

LOCAL FLEET = primarily runs within 50 mile radius of home terminal in Vancouver, WA.
SHORT HAUL FLEET = primarily runs Oregon & Washington.
FIVE Western States = runs Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Utah, and Montana. Note: This fleet may include some British Columbia (Canada).

Drivers paid based on mileage may be eligible for additional pay such as tarp pay, stop pay, etc.
Notes:
1. Drivers shall be eligible for overtime pay after exceeding 40 hours in a Sunday through Saturday work week. The overtime rate shall be your regular hourly rate plus 1/2 of your hourly rate.
2. Drivers must have LESS THAN 6 points on our Driver Rating Plan to receive merit or longevity pay increases. The plan is a point system which assigns points for traffic infractions, accidents, claims, etc.
ADDITIONAL PAY & BENEFITS FOR DRIVERS IN OUR FLATBED FLEET:
- $500.00 Sign On (Safety) Bonus after 90 days *continuous employment provided no preventable accidents/incidents, freight claims, moving violations, or out of service violations issued by a law enforcement agency. Note: Sign on bonus is for "new" drivers only. Drivers who are being re-hired or Owner-Operators switching to be a comany driver are not eligible for sign on (safety) bonus.
*Note: Continuous employment shall be defined as performing full-time work (driving duties) and/or being available for full-time work (driving duties) at Mitchell Bros.
- $25.00 a day Orientation pay plus motel provided if you live outside of a 50 mile radius. Orientation pay is payable on scheduled paycheck after 30 days continuous employment. Note: Orientation pay is for "new" drivers only. Drivers who are being re-hired are not eligible for orientation pay or motel shown above.
- $75.00 a day "Ride-A-Long" pay. In the event additional training is necessary for a new driver, the new driver may spend a day or two being trained by one of our senior drivers. Ride-a-long pay shall be issued on scheduled paycheck after 30 days of continuous employment.
- $20.00 per night approved layover pay after first night. Must be away from our home terminal of Vancouver, WA to be eligible for layover pay.
- $5.00 per week phone allowance to contact customer(s) using the Mitchell Bros. issued EFS Transportation card. Any balance left over can be used for personal use such as calling home to family members.
- Medical, Prescription, Dental, & Life Insurance Coverage: Mitchell Bros. will pay 100% of insurance premium for eligible employee. Our primary medical coverage is through Kaiser Permanente. For drivers who live outside the Kaiser Permanente coverage area the coverage will then be provided by Group Health. Medical, prescription, and dental coverage is available for eligible family members. The premium for eligible family members is set up to be deducted from your paycheck(s). Mitchell Bros. contributes up to $25 per month towards eligible family member coverage. We do have a Section 125 Plan available so the premium can be deducted Pre-Tax.
- Vision Plan is available. Routine eye examinations are
covered under Kaiser Permanente and Group Health Insurance plan. If you
would like a complete optical plan ask company representative about an "Eye
Med Vision Care" plan which is available.
Note(s) : If you would like a complete list of our current health care, dental and vision insurance rates to add a spouse/family, please ask a company representative. Eligibility for coverage is available the 1st day of the month following 90 days of employment. Health care premium rates are subject to change.
- Vacation
- 1 week after 1 year of continuous employment
- 1 week after 2 years of continuous employment
- 2 weeks after 3 years of continuous employment

- 401 K Plan is also available which includes an Employer Matching Feature, we match 30% up to 5% of your contribution. (Eligible to participate the next quarterly period following 90 days of employment.)
- AFLAC Insurance is available through tax-deferred, payroll deductions.
- $150.00 per week cash advance is available for those drivers operating in our 5 Western State fleet. Otherwise $50 cash advance is available for our "local based" fleets. Cash advances are made available using the EFS card..
- Direct Deposit Available.
- Referral Bonus Pay. You can earn extra money if you refer a company driver or owner-operator (excluding lease purchase operator) that we sign on. For complete details, ask company representative.
- Pay Days: Mitchell Bros. issues paychecks on the 15th and the last day of the month, however, if payday falls on a Sunday, the paycheck will be released the following Monday. A calendar showing "cut off" dates for turning in paperwork along with scheduled pay days will be issued to you during orientation.
